The Rightful King

Your first taste of the comic! This is the map of the lands the story will take place in.

Under Emporer Belsarius (Bell-sare-ee-uhs):

1. Melanthia. (Mell-an-thee-ah)
Under King Laius (Lay-uhs)
Very mild, pleasant climate. The north is slightly dry from the rainshadow from the Katabasi Mountains. The plains can get quite hot in the summer, but usually winds come from the east off the ocean to cool down the rolling hills. The Trinai (Try-nye) Mountains create many rivers, but also restrict the closest access to the sea. It takes days to get to the ocean from any point in Melanthia. Overall, Melanthia is lush, rolling green hills, cool rivers from the mountains, and sparkling lakes.

2. Persophen. (Purr-seph-inn)
Under Prince Crassus (Crah-suhs)
Persophen has a Mediterranean climate. Summers are long, hot, and dry, but the temperatures do not climb too high, because the strong sea breezes cool off the lands. The ocean also keeps the temperatures mild in the winter, when the winds die down and the warmth rarely lets the temperatures get near freezing. The winters are the wet season, and the rivers run high during this time. In short: Persophen is a beautiful place loved for it's summery mild climate, gorgeous white coasts, and picturesque islands.

3. Brohmos. (Broh-mohs)
Under Prince Dahmian (Dah-mee-an)
Brohmos, unlike it's neighboring lands, is quite desert-like. Hot winds blow up from the south, making it quite dry and extremely hot. Lots of huge rivers flow south from the Trinai Mountains, which are the only way life can exist in this brutal climate. These rivers flood at least three times a year, watering and fertilizing lush plants which grow within a few miles of their beds. These very thin strips of good lands are actually the most fertile in Melanthia. But between the water, there are bone-dry deserts that are impassible. Treks must be made along the coast, or on the border of Melanthia. Brohmos: Desert-like, hot and dry, but very fertile and green near the rivers.

4. Ciantilly. (See-an-till-ee)
Under Prince Rulleli (Roo-lell-ee)
The south of Ciantilly is usually very cool all year around because of the towering Katabasi Mountains. The altitude is extremely high in and around the mountains. They are so high they create a rainshadow that catches the storms that travel south from the sea. This makes them quite wet all the time, and in the winter, snowfall is up to 3 feet a day. To the north, its exactly the opposite, very sunny and dry, but not harshly so. The islands are very tropical and beautiful, and are excellent places to live. Ciantilly: Very warm and pleasant to the north, very cold and wet to the south.

5. Lathviaas. (Lath-vee-ahs)
Under Prince Nachten (Nahct-in)
Basically, Lathiviaas is the lowlands of Melanthia. All the storms eventually dump into this region, and water pools in the vast swamps that dot the countryside. It is always warm here, and winters are very mild due to all the water and precipitation. It has been known to snow only once or twice ever. The incredible part is the humidity. No matter what the temperature, the humidity is always very high. This is good for the grass and plants, and there is never a shortage of food or shelter. Known for its sandy pleasnat beaches and warm sun, Lathviaas is a very pleasant and enjoyable place to live. In summary: Very hot, very humid, great beaches, good food, and never a shortage of water.

Notes

:bulletwhite: Even though only the middle kingdom is named "Melanthia", when referring to the entire region, it is proper to call it Melanthia as well.

:bulletwhite: The equine which rules Melanthia (the innermost kingdom) is reffered to as King. The rulers of the other four lands are Princes.

:bulletwhite: The ruler of Melanthia is supposedly equal to his four princes, despite his elevated title. He will hold meetings and settle disputes between them. Through the years, though, the King has gained more power and has risen above the Princes.

:bulletwhite: The Emperor is the supreme ruler, and he has power over every other being in the lands. He lives where he likes, and often has many dwellings within the greater region of Melanthia.

:bulletwhite: Though most of the time he is not involved in governing or running the lands, he has absolute power and can do anything he likes at will. Ususally, the emporer just enjoys a life of luxury and lets his underlings do their own thing.

:bulletwhite: If the emporer should die, the King will take over - however - this is not always the case, and the late emporer can name anyone as his predecessor. If the emporer should die suddenly or unexpected without having chosen the next in line, the Council should gather and choose, or elect a new emporer.

:bulletwhite: Unless a King or Prince choses another to suceed him, then his son should assume his position.

:bulletwhite: If the King dies, then the four princes should battle to determine the new King.

Well, that's about it for now. Hope it got you excited. Because this summer, the comic will debut! I'm not working, so I'll have a lot of time to work on it.

Firstly, what is Tamriel?
Secondly, this is a product of my imagination. I sat at the computer and worked for hours, and I don't appriciate it being written off in a comment.

I don't know who you are, or what "Tamriel" is, but I'm not going to change it. End of story.

Thar ya go.
And regardless of how much effort one puts into something, they still need to be open to the possibility that there may be errors in it. More time spent doesn't guarantee more quality.
Also, it feels morbidly lacking in detail for it to be called complete. You'd think there'd be at least one town in Brohmos.
Anyway.
I'm sure your imagination can remedy that, just.. put MOAR effort into it. Will be good to see results :)

Well, this is exactly how I imagined it, and I've never seen that map ever. I designed this based purely on what I needed to fit my story.
Additionally, I feel like since the characters are horse, towns are inapproriate.
I also put a lot of thought into the weather and the climate, and how they would play into the Prince's personalites and plots.
So, while not everything is 100% original - nothing ever is - i think it is substantially mine.
